Russian occupants use prohibited laser weapons in Donbas, - Head of State Border Guard Service Nazarenko

Russian occupants used banned weapons against the Ukrainian military in the Donbas.

Head of the State Border Guard Service Viktor Nazarenko told Interfax Ukraine, Censor.NET reports.

The Russians tested laser weapons on our troops. As a result, three military personnel of the State Border Guard Service got retina burns of the eyes. We are in a very difficult situation right now: we were able to restore only their peripheral vision, not the direct one," he said.

"It happened on Marinka checkpoint when Ukrainian borer guards were watching with binoculars and a monocle. The Russians used a special laser device banned by the Convention (the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons from 1980 - Ed.)," he added.
