"Ukrainian army is main factor deterring Putin's aggression and maintaining security in Europe," - Turchynov

National Security and Defense Council Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov deems Russian Security Council meeting is the follow-up of the dirty provocation campaign launched against Ukraine by the Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) and Putin yesterday.

According to Turchynov, the obvious purpose of such action is to thwart peaceful efforts to halt the aggression and liberate the occupied territories, as well as create preconditions for escalation of the conflict and subsequent aggressive actions by Russia.

"The only thing that is now deterring implementation of a new phase of military aggression against our country is understanding of the Kremlin leadership that heavy losses are inevitable in case of confrontation with our army," Turchynov said.

"Our armed forces, the National Guard and other military forces are main factor currently deterring Putin's aggression against Ukraine," the NSDC secretary said stressing that it was also the primary mean maintaining security in Europe.

"That's why we need to provide appropriate provisioning and funding of our military, ensure the implementation of the current year's defense budget and draw up adequate security and defense sector budget for the next year despite the obstacles made by many populists and traitors from among the MPs," Oleksandr Turchynov expressed his conviction.

"Our enemies must realize that they will never force Ukraine to its knees," he concluded.
