Today, Aug. 8, 2016, Russian occupants continued to violate the cease-fire in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area. As of 6 p.m., 18 enemy attacks on Ukrainian army positions had been registered.

"At Donetsk direction, militants resorted to armed provocations near Avdiivka and Troitske, where they employed 82-mm and 120-mm mortars. Soldiers in Kamianka came under machine gun fire. Luhanske village at the Svitlodarsk salient was hit with grenade launchers.

"At Mariupol direction at about 6 a.m., our soldiers in Shyrokyne came under heavy artillery fire. Moreover, Shyrokyne and Vodiane were struck with 120-mm mortars. The enemy continued armed provocation in Starohnativka using small arms.

"From 7 a.m. to noon, militants observed the cease-fire. After that, they resumed attacks at both directions, using grenade launchers and small arms in Hnutove and 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers and heavy machine guns in the vicinity of Avdiivka.
