Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Nariman Dzhelialov wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.
"Eyewitnesses report about large amounts of Russian military equipment located in the area of Armiansk and Dzhankoi. Dzhankoi is surrounded with tanks and other military vehicles," he wrote.
Earlier, Vice-President of the Congress of the Crimean Tatars Lenur Isliamov said that shots were heard and several helicopters seen on the border with occupied Crimea.
Aug. 5, NSDC secretary Oleksandr Turchynov said that Russia redeployed its aircraft, missile air defense systems, and heavy artillery to occupied Crimea.
"This is a space image of a location of powerful SP guns near Armiansk (occupied Crimea). You can see this is almost combat readiness. Armiansk is very close to the [Perekopskyi] land bridge, i.e. to the conflict line. Russia deploys powerful weapons in Crimea to cover its air force from the air. In particular, very powerful C-400 Triumf anti-aircraft missile systems are located in Dzhankoi. In fact, [Russia] is creating new and uses old Soviet [military] bases with strong war capability. I draw your attention to the fact that this capability is mostly of offensive nature," Turchynov said.
