 Suspect in murder of ridesharing driver Pozniakov taken into custody, - National Police head

The court arrested former soldier of Right Sector Dmytro Holub with the call sign Tof suspected of murder of Taras Pozniakov, the driver of the car he was travelling in Aug. 5. Taras Pozniakov offered ridesharing through BlaBlaCar.

Head of the National Police of Ukraine Khatia Dekanoidze wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"As for the investigation of Taras Pozniakov's case also known as 'BlaBlaCar inquiry', the police detained Dmytro Holub in the Khmelnitsky yesterday. He is suspected of committing criminal offenses punished by paragraphs 6 and 12 of part 2 of article 115 (murder), part 3 of article 289 (car theft) and part 1 of article 263 (illegal possession of firearms) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine," she wrote.

"Kyiv-Sviatoshynskyi district court of Kyiv region decided to put Holub in 60-day pretrial detention until Oct. 02, 2016 today. The search operation is underway!" Dekanoidze stressed.

As reported, Taras Pozniakov left for Kyiv from Lviv on his Audi A6 April 4, 2016. He agreed to share his trip with two persons who said that they were participants of the anti-terrorist operation. However, they did not enter the city and the car disappeared. The driver's current location is unknown while the car was found in the Kyiv-Sviatoshynskyi district of Kyiv region.

Interpol put 36-year-old Ukrainian Dmytro Holub and 25-year-old citizen of Russia Luan Kingisepp on international wanted list as suspects in Pozniakov's abduction. Holub is charged with premeditated murder for profit committed by a group of individuals in collusion as well as car theft. Kingisepp faces the same charges with illegal possession of firearms, ammunition and explosives on top.
