As part of criminal proceedings instituted under part 3, article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, law enforcers caught the chief of a department of the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry red-handed while taking a bribe.
"The official was extorting $150,000 from a businessman for furthering a winning in a tender for purchase of a state agricultural enterprise," the statement notes.
As noted, the facility of the said state enterprise, which is in liquidation over debts, is located near Kharkiv.
"The Security Service, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office nabbed the official in the capital in the ministerial parking lot as she was accepting the entire amount of the bribe," the SBU reported.

The grafter has been detained under the article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. She will soon be served a corresponding indictment.
Pre-trial investigation is underway.
