 Russian proxies employed heavy artillery against Pisky, shelled Avdiivka with mortars, - Staff

The situation in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area remains difficult, but controlled. The Russian occupation forces have committed 28 attacks, including heavy artillery strikes on Ukrainian troops’ positions since the beginning of the day.

Censor.NET informs citing the situation report by the ATO Staff press center.

The latest update reads: "The actions of the enemy ceased to be discriminating: the invaders were mortaring civilians for three hours starting from 11 a.m. today. 21 shells launched with 82-mm caliber mortars impacted houses of peaceful residents in Avdiivka and Opytne.

"The enemy also employed 152-mm heavy artillery against Pisky at Donetsk direction. The positions near Avdiivka keep being subject to the fiercest attacks. The invaders repeatedly shelled our positions there with 120-mm and 82-mm mortars.

"The occupants used high-caliber machine guns near Troitske. The enemy shelled Kirove and Luhanske with 82-mm mortars and grenade launchers of various systems.

"The Russian invaders also shelled the fortifications in Krasnohorivka and Talakivka at Mariupol direction with 120-mm and 82-mm mortars. The enemy attacked positions in the vicinity of Marinka with a tank, grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns, and small arms.

"Ukrainian soldiers near Novozvanivka in the Luhansk region came under mortar shelling, including with 120-mm mortars. Sniper attacks were also recorded there," the report reads.
