 Military equipment from war area will not be used in Independence Day parade in Kyiv on Aug. 24, - Poroshenko

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko says no military equipment from the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area in the east of Ukraine will be employed in the Independence Day parade in the capital city on Aug. 24.

"On Aug. 20, you will be able to see that all equipment that has to be on the front line is on the front line. Moreover, a lot of equipment will be transferred to the military in the ATO area right before the Independence Day," Poroshenko said to reporters on Tuesday at the training center of Airmobile Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Zhytomyr, during celebrations of the Airmobile Forces Day, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax-Ukraine.

The head of the state stressed that the people would not be deprived of the right to greet its army.

"I want to emphasize that Ukraine has a lot to be proud of - its army, and a military parade is a great chance to demonstrate it. Ukraine should strengthen its unity and patriotism, and a military parade is a great chance to demonstrate it," Poroshenko said.
