 54 attacks registered yesterday as enemy used IFV in Shyrokyne, - Staff

Over the past day, Russian occupants committed 54 attacks against anti-terrorist operation (ATO) forces, including with Minsk-banned weapons.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the anti-terrorist operation press center in a report as at 6 a.m. Aug. 2, posted on Facebook.

According to the Staff, 36 enemy attacks were recorded at the Donetsk direction, 14 near Mariupol and four in the Luhansk direction.

"At Donetsk direction, in the area between Avdiivka and Krasnohorivka and near Troitske, the enemy used 120-mm mortars and heavy machine guns. In addition, militants employed 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers and small arms outside Avdiivka, Maiorsk, Novhorodske, Zaitseve, Nyzhnie Lozove and Opytne. As darkness fell, the enemy stepped up its activity. In Luhanske, Zaitseve and Maiorsk, Ukrainian troops were forced to return fire. In Nyzhnie Lozove, the enemy employed armored vehicles," the reported reads.

As also noted, the situation was strained in Shyrokyne at the Mariupol direction where occupants employed infantry fighting vehicles, 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, grenade launchers and small arms. In addition, the enemy fired grenade launchers against Novomykhailivka. Hnutove and Krasnohorivka came under 82-mm mortar and small arms attack.

In the Luhansk region, militants hit Krymske, Lopaskine and Popasna with grenade launchers. Ukrainian positions in Krymske also came under mortar fire.

As previously reported, on Sunday, July 31, Russian mercenaries opened fire twice on border guards' positions, using small arms and automatic grenade launchers.
