The trial is conducted by judge Volodymyr Karaban. Yefremov and his lawyers Yevhen Solodko and Oleksandr Melnykov, as well as representatives of the prosecutor's office are present in the courtroom.
The judge has announced a 40-minute break to let the defense harmonize positions with the suspect since not all lawyers received copies of the prosecutor's motion on choosing a measure of restraint.
Earlier, media reported that former chairman of Party of Regions' parliamentary faction Oleksandr Yefremov had been brought to the Pechersk district court of Kyiv Monday morning.
Prior to that, July 30, the Prosecutor General's Office detained Yefremov on suspicion of violation of territorial integrity of Ukraine.
