 Terrorists opened fire upon Ukrainian army positions 85 times yesterday, Avdiivka remains hottest spot, - Staff

Russian occupation forces continue violating the Minsk accords.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) press center in a report as at 6 a.m. Aug. 1, posted on Facebook.

According to the Staff, the enemy conducted 85 cases of shelling of the ATO forces' positions over the past 24-hour period, including 37 at Donetsk direction, 35 at Mariupol direction, and 13 at Luhansk direction.

"At Donetsk direction, the enemy used heavy artillery of 152-mm and 122-mm caliber. It was really hot near Avdiivka at night, where the enemy used more than 100 missiles. It employed mortars of various calibers, grenade launchers and machine guns to fire upon our positions in Opytne, Avdiivka, Zaitseve and Pisky. It was unquiet in Maiorsk, Kamianka, and Troitske," the message reads.

It is also reported that occupants used mortars of various calibers at Mariupol direction, against Shyrokyne and Marinka. In Krasnohorivka, militants conducted fire from 82-mm mortars and small arms. Enemy IFVs shot upon Vodiane and Starohnativka. Enemy snipers were active near Marinka, Starohnativka, and Novotroitske.

"Ar around 10:42 p.m., an enemy recon and sabotage group was spotted near Bohdanivka. The enemy approached at 100 meters and opened fire from small arms and AGS-17. Thanks to coherent actions by the personnel, the enemy was repelled with AGS and small arms fire. The skirmish lasted for 18 minutes," the ATO press center informed.

The enemy also conducted aerial reconnaissance near Novotroitske.

In the Luhansk region, Ukrainian Army positions near Novotoshkivske, Novozvanivka, and Krymske were chaotically shelled by the enemy from 82-mm mortars and grenade launchers, provoking Ukrainian soldiers to retaliate. Near Novooleksandrivka, Stanytsia Luhanska, and Popasna, grenade launchers were used.

As reported yesterday, a total of 70 militants' attacks were recorded on July 30.
