Anti-terrorist operation (ATO) Staff press officer, Col. Valentyn Buriachenko told a news conference on Monday, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrinform.
"According to preliminary information from SBU, the two eliminated fighters had call signs "Lom" and "Tikhiy." Alexander "Lom" Lomov served as commander of a reconnaissance unit, the USSR's 15th "Brianka" Territorial Defense Battalion. Now it is known as the 15th Infantry Battalion, the 6th Separate Motorized Rifle Regiment, the 2nd Army Corps of Russia's Armed Forces," Buriachenko noted.
Another killed saboteur Alexey "Tikhiy" Kolosovsky also served in the above-mentioned unit.
The ATO Staff demonstrated documents of previously captured Russian military: a list of personnel of one of the units, a clearance checklist, a contract that Russia's mercenaries sign with the so-call "DPR" and the like.
"Saboteurs conceal their presence. They won't admit they are professional soldiers. For example, they use chevrons of Don Cossack troops. They normally fight under the guise of such units. But I think it is no secret these are Russians who oppose ATO forces in the Donbas," the press officer remarked.
