According to the eyewitnesses, people may be buried underneath the rubble.

The building was constructed in 1887-1892 and its condition has been dangerous in recent decades. The Odesa Regional Council sold it at an auction to Art Building Group for 1.6 million hryvnia (about $64,000) last August. The company undertook commitment to restore the building to its original condition.

The press service of the Main Directorate of the State of Emergency Service in the Odesa region told Interfax-Ukraine that the rescuers were working at the scene. There is no information on casualties yet.
