Censor.NET reports referring to Ukrainska Pravda citing a law enforcement source.
"An explosive device definitely went off in the car," the source said.
"At 7:40 a.m., he drove away from the house at 12 Ivana Franka Str. and reached the crossroads. At this point, the car caught fire after a popping sound under the driver's seat," the source added.
No official version of the incident has been voiced so far.
Earlier, on Wednesday morning, prominent journalist Pavel Sheremet was killed in Kyiv.
