Liudmyrskyi's friends, colleagues, and relatives connect this brazen abduction to his professional activity in Ukrzaliznytsia.

"The supply of Ukrzaliznytsia with power stipulates multi-million dollar contracts which companies connected with criminals and gangsters are often interested in," Ukrzaliznytsia Information Policy and Public Relations Department Head Danylo Vakhovskyi said.

As previously reported, Head of the Power Supply Department of Ukrzaliznytsia state railway operator Valerii Liudmyrskyi was abducted in the evening of July 18 in the Solomianskyi district of Kyiv. The kidnappers shot down the dog that the official was walking, forcibly pushed the man into a van with fake plates, and fled the scene in an unknown direction.
