Minister of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelian said at a news conference on July 18, Censor.NET reports citing the Ministry of Infrastructure press service.
"When foreign companies saw that the Ukrainian government does not speak the language of declarations and has indeed allocated funds for the restoration of Ukrainian roads, they became more active. We have been addressed by Azerbaijani, Turkish, Italian, German, and other countries' companies. They are willing to come to Ukraine and build quality roads.

"Moreover, they are ready to not just come from abroad but to register in Ukraine, pay taxes, employ Ukrainian workers. The only way to keep this trend is setting up a road fund so that the companies see that this is a systemic investment of money rather than a one-time campaign. I hope we'll be able to talk about systemic work in the next year," Omelian stressed.
Earlier, Prime Minister Volodymyr Hroisman demanded to accelerate the repair of roads in Ukraine and warned officials from stealing funds. The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated additional 1.5 billion hryvnia (approx. $60.358 million) for road repairs. According to Omelian, 97 percent of roads in Ukraine are worn out.
