Militants refused to swap 25 Ukrainian hostages for 50 separatists, - Iryna Herashchenko

Militants of the so-called "DPR" and "LPR" refused to exchange 25 Ukrainian hostages, illegally held in the temporarily occupied territory, for 50 their fighters.

Instead, they offer to use the "all-for-all" formula, providing a fake list of 600 hostages to the Ukrainian side.

Presidential envoy for the peaceful settlement of the situation in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group, Verkhovna Rada First Vice Speaker Iryna Herashchenko wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

According to her, the OSCE has received a "DPR" and "LPR" response where they refuse to release 25 hostages in exchange for 50 their people they have asked for.

"They want to have it by the all-for-all formula," Herashchenko wrote.

At that, she says, they provide a phantasmagorical list of 600 people, half of whom simply do not exist.

"All our appeals to logic, humanism, and compromise are denied. This is what we call real terrorism," she remarked.
