 Poroshenko, Erdogan agree on High-Level Strategic Council meeting in Kyiv

During his working visit to Warsaw for participation in NATO's Summit, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

As reported by Censor.NET citing presidential press service, Poroshenko expressed his condolences to the Turkish people over the recent tragedy in the Istanbul airport.

In turn, the Turkish president expressed support for Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty and once again condemned the persecution of Crimean Tatars in occupied Crimea.

He emphasized that nothing will affect the reinforcement of the Ukraine-Turkey strategic partnership.

Petro Poroshenko and Recep Tayyip Erdogan agreed to further coordinate efforts in the sphere of regional security and intensification of economic cooperation between the two states.

The parties also agreed to hold a regular session of the High-Level Strategic Council under the co-chairmanship of the presidents of Ukraine and Turkey in Kyiv. The foreign ministers of the two states were instructed to carry out all necessary preparations.

Petro Poroshenko expressed gratitude to the Turkish side for the recent decision to increase the period of visa-free stay in Turkey for Ukrainians from 60 to 90 days during a 180-day period. In this context, the president of Turkey noted the increasing number of Ukrainian tourists.
