Militants block release of hostages, demand amnesty for 600 criminals, - Iryna Herashchenko

Militants claim holding two dozens of hostages in the "DPR" and one dozen in the "LPR". Meanwhile, 112 Ukrainians are staying in captivity, according to the Ukrainian side.

Presidential envoy for the peaceful settlement of the situation in the occupied Donbas Iryna Herashchenko wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.

"I have repeatedly, including during meetings with the mothers and wives of hostages, informed them, and society, and the media that militants block the release of hostages, demanding amnesty. However, they demand amnesty for more than 600 people who violated Ukrainian laws amid hostilities, which automatically leads to the impunity of the criminals. They also refuse to provide information about the captivity and whereabouts of 112 Ukrainians and block the search for more than 500 missing persons. They say that only two dozens of hostages are being held in the "DPR" and... one dozen in the "LPR". This is a terrible and cynical story that we have here... But we keep fighting for the liberation of each person, and we keep gleaning information on the whereabouts of our citizens," she said.
