In addition to the faction deputies, several independent MPs could also be seen in the presidium.
As reported, OIeksandra Kuzhel (Batkivshchyna) was sitting in the place of Speaker Andrii Parubii, while that of his deputy Oksana Syroid was occupied by Olena Kondratiuk (Batkivshchyna). The chair of First Deputy Chairman Iryna Herashchenko was sat by independent MP Yurii Derevianko.
Other non-affiliated deputies blocking the presidium include Mykhailo Holovko (All-Ukrainian Union Svoboda), Dmytro Dobrodomov, and Oleh Musii (Narodnyi Kontrol party).
Batkivshchyna leader Yuliia Tymoshenko is standing by OIeksandra Kuzhel.
The parliamentary rostrum is not blocked, with Radical Party deputies, including leader Oleh Liashko, sitting nearby.
Due to the blocking of the presidium, Speaker Parubii was forced to speak from the hall with a microphone in his hand. He called on deputies to sing the national anthem and then adjourned the meeting.
"I declare the meeting closed over the impossibility to conduct it," he said.
On July 5, Radical Party and Batkivshchyna MPs blocked the work of the Verkhovna Rada, their key requirements being the reduction of utility rates and launching of a probe into president and his allies' offshore activity. They also demand to prove the existence of the current coalition.
