According to the news website, Fedorko arrived in the court personally. However, the exact time of the hearing had not been scheduled - the parties were expecting for it to be appointed by judge who schedules court hearings randomly.
The hearing started in camera. The judge decided not to allow journalists inside, having explained it was done so in order to prevent personal data and pre-trial materials from publication.
The prosecution asked to release Fedorko under personal recognizance. The court granted this petition, and Fedorko has been released.
As previously reported, the accident occurred on a highway near Boiarka, after a car driven by intoxicated Ivan Fedorko, Ukrzaliznytsia top manager, moved into the oncoming lane and collided with a car driven by journalist Maks Levin with his wife and two young children on board. As a result, Levin's wife and a young son were hospitalized with multiple injuries. Criminal proceedings have been instituted upon the accident, while Fedorko, who escaped the scene, has been put on the wanted list.
On July 4, 2016 Wojciech Balczun, a CEO of Ukrzaliznytsia state railway network operator, removed Freight Transport and Logistics Director Ivan Fedorko from office. On the same day, law enforcers served him a suspicion notice and took blood specimen for tests.
