Censor.NET reports citing the statement by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"All discharged servicemen are enlisted in the immediate reserve forces. Such reservists have been taking part in drills at military bases since early 2016," the statement reads.
Besides, defense units have been created under the auspices of military enlistment offices. These units are manned on voluntary basis both by reservists and persons liable for military service in the first place. Reservists representing patriotic organizations are proposed to obtain officer and sergeant positions in these detachments. These units undergo reserve duty training exercise over a two-year period. These detachments fulfill tasks solely on area basis.
The General Staff notes that every citizen who has not been called up for military service during drafts but has a desire to defend the homeland may apply to the military enlistment office to be trained as part of such squads. These detachments are manned by citizens of Ukraine from 20 to 60 years of age regardless of gender.
