"We will restore peace and return occupied territories to Ukraine," - Poroshenko

Ukrainian soldiers returned Sloviansk and Kramatorsk with minimal human casualties, saving lives of people who were in the operation area.

This was announced by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in Sloviansk, the Donetsk region, on the occasion of the second anniversary of liberation of the city from pro-Russian invaders, Censor.NET reports citing LIGA.net.

"It was back in July 2014 when the reviving Armed Forces passed their first combat test in this real war; it was a test not every army could have passed," Poroshenko stressed.

He reminded that terrorists were torturing Ukrainian patriots in SBU basements.

According to the president, those July days of 2014 showed the entire world how decisive Ukrainians were in protection of their liberty, democracy, and territorial integrity.
