 Situation worsens in ATO area: 63 attacks registered, enemy used 122-mm guns, 120-mm mortars, anti-tank systems, - Staff

The situation in the area of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) remains strained and shows signs of deterioration.

As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the ATO press center in its report as at 6 a.m. July 5, posted on Facebook.

According to the Staff, Russian occupants committed 63 attacks on Ukrainian defenders over the past day.

"Most of them (33) were recorded at Donetsk direction. Our soldiers in Zaitseve and Dacha came under Minsk-banned 122-mm artillery fire, while 120-mm mortars were employed to hit ATO forces near Nevelske, Opytne, Pisky, Pivnichne (Kirove). Using various types of grenade launchers and heavy machine guns, the enemy struck Avdiivka.

"At Mariupol direction, 28 cases of cease-fire violations were registered. Russian occupation troops used 120-mm mortars, grenade launchers, and heavy machine guns to repeatedly fire on Ukrainian soldiers in Shyrokyne and Talakivka. Krasnohorivka came under 120-mm mortar attack. The enemy employed an anti-tank system near Hranitne and 82-mm mortars near Hnutove," the report notes.

As also reported, in the Luhansk region, militants committed two indirect attacks near Novozvanivka.
