"It has been established that the driver of the Audi Q7 lost control for unknown reasons, drove into the oncoming lane, and collided with Dacia Logan operated by 34-year-old resident of Boiarka, a journalist of an online medium.
"Criminal proceedings have been instituted under part 1, article 286 (violation of road safety regulations) and article 342 (resistance to an official, a law enforcer, a member of public order control) of the criminal Code of Ukraine. Pre-trial investigation is underway.
"The 49-year-old resident of Kyiv, responsible for the road accident on Zabiria-Boiarka highway that injured three persons, escaped from hospital during a test for alcohol. The police have tracked the culprit. He is staying in the intensive care unit of a Kyiv's hospital, guarded by the police," the statement notes.
As previously reported, July 3, an accident occurred on a highway near Boiarka, after a car driven by intoxicated Ivan Fedorko, Ukrzaliznytsia top manager, moved into the oncoming lane and collided with a car driven by journalist Maks Levin with his wife and two young children on board. As a result, Levin's wife and a young son were hospitalized with multiple injuries. Criminal proceedings have been instituted upon the accident, while Fedorko, who escaped the scene, has been put on the wanted list. The official has been removed from office until the investigation is over.
