As reported by Censor.NET, a former "DPR" warlord Igor Bezler announced it on his wife's VK social network page, where he tends to publish his newsletters. According to him, this has not been the first attempt on militants' leaders in a while.
"On June 29, "DPR's" Machete and his wife faced an attempt. Today, a successful attempt was made on the commander of the 7th Brigade, call sign "Zarya". Some strange things has happened to the Brigade recently.
"P.S. Removing checkpoints and respectively easing the permit regime, reinstating high-ranking police officers who previously "escaped" to the territory of Ukraine, appointing former Euromaidan activists mayors... Idiots!" the statement reads.
Volunteer Roman Sinitsyn wrote on Facebook. "Bushuev - the commander of the 7th Brigade (1st Army Corps), colonel of Russia's Armed Forces. Before the arrival in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donbas, he had served in command positions in Russia's Airborne Forces: battalion commander and chief of staff - first deputy commander of the 83d Separate Air Assault Brigade (unit No. 71289, Ussuriisk, Primorsky Krai, Russia)."
"A couple of days ago, Alexander's brigade suffered heavy losses in manpower and hardware near Debaltseve. But that's another story. Bushuev is known for setting up a choir of soldiers wearing gas masks in his brigade, which even aroused indignation in the "DPR". In April he suffered a serious nervous breakdown that resulted in drunken shoot outs, wounded soldiers, and serious wrangles among militants and their Russian bosses," he added.
