No elections possible in Donbas until Russian tanks are removed and border is closed, - presidential envoy Herasymov

For as long as the Russian army stays in the Donbas and the border is out of Ukraine's control, no elections are possible there.

As reported by Censor.NET, presidential envoy in the parliament Artur Herasymov said it in an interview with LB.ua.

"Until Russian tanks and army are removed from the Donbas, until the border is closed, at least technically, no way! No elections will be there!

"And we [Ukraine - ed.] have the right to that as there is one very fine detail in the Minsk agreements. It reads that elections should be held under OSCE/ODIHR standards. Thus, as long as people with Kalashnikovs stay in this territory, elections are out of the question," he said.
