 Ukrainian hero Wassyl Slipak to be buried in Lviv on July 1

A farewell ceremony for fallen Ukrainian soldier Wassyl Slipak will take place tomorrow in Lviv.

Censor.NET reports quoting Volunteer Ukrainian Corps chief medic Yana Zinkevych.

"According to preliminary information, a memorial service will begin in Lviv, on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Garrison Church of Sts. Peter and Paul (11 Teatralna Str.). From there, the funeral procession will move to the Lychakivske Cemetery where the burial will start at around 12:30 p.m..

"Our late hero will be buried in the honorary graves sector No. 76.

"I have a request from the relatives of the deceased! Do not bring farewell wreaths and flowers, but spend the money on those who are alive and have survived!!" she wrote.

Fighter of the 7th Battalion of the Volunteer Ukrainian Corps, opera singer Wassyl Slipak (call sign "Meph") was killed by a sniper shot in the ATO area at 6 a.m. on June 29. He had lived and worked in France for 19 years as a Paris opera singer but abandoned his career and chose to defend Ukraine when Russia unleashed its aggression against the country.
