 Number of Ukrainian casualties in Istanbul airport reached four, - Foreign Ministry

The number of Ukrainian citizens who suffered during the terrorist act at the Ataturk international airport in Istanbul has risen to four persons.

Censor.NET reports citing the Department of Consular Service of Ukraine's Foreign Ministry.

"According to updated data of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Istanbul, the number of Ukrainian victims of the terrorist act at the Ataturk international airport has risen to four people: one female citizen died in hospital of received injuries, three other citizens (one woman and two men) are staying in Istanbul hospitals with injuries of varying severity, their life and health being out of danger," the statement notes.

As also noted, the Ukrainian consul in Istanbul visited the suffered Ukrainians.

"The Consulate General of Ukraine in Istanbul continues to monitor the situation and provide necessary assistance to the affected citizens of Ukraine," the service noted.

As reported, in the evening of June 28, an explosion rocked the Ataturk international airport, its epicenter being in the arrivals area. According to the latest official data, the bombing killed 36 and injured 147 people. Islamic State is reported to have assumed responsibility for the attack in the main Istanbul airport.
