 Terrorist attack in Turkish airport: 36 killed, 147 wounded

Three suicide bombers opened fire then blew themselves up in Istanbul's main international airport on Tuesday, killing 36 people and wounding 147.

Turkey's prime minister said this appeared to have been an attack by Islamic State militants, Censor.NET informs citing Reuters.

One attacker opened fire in the departures hall with an automatic rifle, sending passengers diving for cover and trying to flee, before all three blew themselves up in or around the arrivals hall a floor below, witnesses and officials said.

According to Ukraine's Foreign Ministry, one Ukrainian female citizen was killed in the attack, another Ukrainian male citizen received minor injuries.

At the moment, employees of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Turkey are visiting local hospitals in search for Ukrainian citizens.

There has been no official statement by Turkish police and government as of now. Access to hospitals and airports has been limited.
