This was announced by the Staff of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in a report as of 6 a.m. June 28, 2016, Censor.NET informs.
71 cases of fire against Ukrainian military were recorded yesterday, including 46 at Mariupol, 19 at Donetsk, and six at Luhansk direction.
The hottest spot at Mariupol direction was Shyrokyne, where 15 cases of shelling of strong points with the use of all types of small arms and mortars of various calibers were recorded. Between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., Russian occupants opened fire from self-propelled guns three times.
It was also unquiet near Marinka, Krasnohorivka, Chermalyk, Lebedynske and Vodiane, where the enemy used mortars to shell Ukrainian strong points. Positions near Novotroitske, Starohnativka, Pavlopil, and Talakivka were sprayed by the enemy from large-caliber mortars and grenade launchers of various systems.
From territory of temporarily occupied Dokuchaievsk, Russian occupants shelled the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Novotroitske from SPGs of 122-mm caliber.
In Donetsk direction, defenses near Troitske, Zaitseve, Maiorske, and Luhanske were fired at from large-caliber mortars and automated grenade launchers, while positions near Opytne, Pisky, and Kirove were sprayed from 82-mm mortars. The enemy used machine guns, automated grenade launchers, and heavy mortars to shell defenders of Avdiivka.
In the Luhansk region, Ukrainian soldiers near Sokilnyky were shelled by the occupants from small arms, and near Orikhove - from an anti-aircraft mount. In addition. the enemy was trying to hit Ukrainian positions near Novooleksandrivka and Popasna with machine guns and automated grenade launchers.
"Ukrainian soldiers opened fire only as retaliation to the occupants," the ATO Staff noted.
