Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman and German Chancellor Angela Merkel said at a briefing after today's meeting in Berlin, Censor.NET reports citing Ukrainski Novyny.
"We were talking about a joint economic conference this fall. We would also like to hold a conference in Kyiv with participation of German business representatives," Merkel said.
She stressed the importance of reforms in Ukraine, in particular those of the judiciary field, to improve the investment appeal.
In turn, Hroisman said that the conference could take place in October. Final agreement on the establishment of the German Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine should be reached there.
"The conference, to be held in October, will create a real effective mechanism for strengthening our economic relations," he stressed.
The prime minister noted that Germany is the leader of investment in Ukraine.
Later during his visit, Hroisman will meet with the Governing Mayor of Berlin Michael Müller, after which a meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian community in Germany is scheduled, and then a meeting with the representatives of political and business circles in the Kerber Fund.
Tuesday, June 28, Hroisman will talk with German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble, as well as with the Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development Gerd Müller.
