Situation in the area of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) remains tense. However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine keep it under control.

Censor.NET reports citing the situation report of the press center of the ATO Staff as of 6 a.m. June 27, 2016.

"The militants shelled Ukrainian positions for 36 times over the past 24 hours: 17 times in the Mariupol sector; 15 times in the Donetsk sector, and four times in the Luhansk sector.

"In the Mariupol sector, Ukrainian strongholds at Marinka, Novotroitske, and Hranitne came under small arms fire, while Marinka was also fired from IFV guns. Militants' shelling resumed after dark and till midnight. Terrorists shelled ATO forces' positions near Starohnativka and Taramchuk from machine-guns and grenade launchers, while the positions at Vodiane, Talakivka, and Chermalyk were mortared," the report reads.

In the Donetsk sector, strongholds near Troitske, Novoselivka-2 and Avdiivka were mortared trice, while the strongholds at Zaitseve and Novhorodske were fired from large-caliber machine-guns and automatic grenade launchers. The defenders of Putylivska mine (Butivka) were fired from small arms and mortars. Opytne was shelled from IFV guns.

In the Luhansk sector, Russian occupants shelled the positions of the Ukrainian military near Popasna from antitank missile systems. Positions at Novooleksandrivka and Novozvanivka came under fire from automatic grenade launchers and 82-mm mortars.
