President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko wrote on Facebook, Censor.NET reports.
"The soldiers mobilized during the fifth wave will return home in June and July. It is important that they will be replaced not by the newly mobilized servicemen, but by contractors," he wrote.
"If we acted on inertia, the seventh wave of mobilization would be coming to its end and the eights wave would have been announced. Instead, we are doing everything possible to minimize the impact of war on society and the economy to allow the society focus on the construction of a new peaceful Ukraine," Poroshenko stressed.
Earlier, Ukraine's Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak said the 7th round of mobilization to the Ukrainian army could be waived if enough contract soldiers applied to serve in the armed forces and the conflict in the east of Ukraine did not escalate.
