NABU completed investigation of Kyoto funds case, - Sytnyk

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine came to the finish line investigating the embezzlement of public funds received under the Kyoto Protocol.

Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) Artem Sytnyk said Friday night that the Bureau could complete the investigation earlier if not for the leak of information, Censor.NET reports citing Interfax Ukraina.

"It would have been completed much earlier. However, when we planed an event before, an intention is to steal half a billion hryvnia was declared and all the persons involved changed their phone numbers and destroyed papers, so we had to renew everything, which took some time," he explained.

"There are a number of defendants detained and taken into custody, while cases of some other defendants will be soon sent to court," Sytnyk stressed.
