According to witnesses, a city shuttle No. 153 was turning from Mytropolytska Street and failed to give way to a truck that was moving along the main Kuprina Street. Truck's driver attempted to escape the accident. He managed to avoid a head-on collision - the truck hit the shuttle on a side. However, another crash followed - a suburban bus hit the shuttle on its front.
The passengers have received moderate injuries, witnesses say.
As of 9:20 a.m., 16 people are reported to have suffered in the accident. Seven of them received minor injuries and refused hospitalization after medical examination and treatment.
Nine people have been taken to city hospitals with concussions, head injuries, body, face, and chest bruises, fractures of arms and jaws. No children have been reported among those suffered.
None of the drivers, including that of the shuttle, were injured.
As previously reported, since the beginning of the year until May 31, 2016, 60,220 traffic accidents had been registered in Ukraine, in which 12,530 people received injuries and 1,178 died.
