 Occupation authorities encourage Crimeans to stock up firewood for winter

Crimea's occupation authorities urge the residents of the peninsula to stockpile firewood for heating in the winter.

This was stated by deputy puppet "leader" of Crimea Nikolay Yanaki, Censor.NET reports citing Krym.Realii.

"The government of the republic has urged the residents of Crimea to start stocking up firewood in the shortest possible time and not to wait for an excessive demand," he said in a comment to Krymskaya Pravda newspaper.

According to Yanaki, the local authorities have been instructed to stockpile firewood in the shortest terms this year.

"I've ordered the municipalities to provide byJuly 1 information on schools, kindergartens, hospitals, and rural health posts, which are heated with wood, so that they will start stocking up solid fuel," the official said.

In the winter of 2015, firewood turned a scarce commodity in Russia-annexed Crimea, with a waiting list for its purchase being drawn up until 2017. The occupation authorities called on local residents to limit the purchase of firewood and substitute it with coal.
