 399 people sought medical aid in Izmail with possible poisoning

399 people (including 241 children) – residents of the city of Izmail and village of Broska (the Odesa region) – have appealed to the Izmail district hospital seeking medical assistance in treatment of the possible poisoning between June 16 and 19.

As reported by Censor.NET citing the State Emergency Service's press office, 260 people (including 185 children) admitted to the hospitals of the city as at 7 a.m. June 20.

139 people (including 56 children) have been dismissed (transferred to outpatient treatment).

The presumptive diagnosis of the victims is acute gastroenterocolitis.

Earlier, the reovirus-like agent's (rotavirus) presence in the tap water was named as the cause of mass poisoning of people in the city of Izmail in the Odesa region.
