Head of the Donetsk regional military and civil administration Pavlo Zhebrivskyi said in an interview to Novoye vremya.
According to him, the first scenario assumes strengthening of sanctions pressure on Russia, which supports the militants, while the second one presupposes strengthening of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and an offensive against the terrorists.
"There are two options. The international community has to realize that this is not a problem of Ukraine, but a problem of the entire world.
"The world order is being violated, therefore, strengthening of the sanctions against the aggressor and international pressure will force Putin to withdraw the troops and leave Ukraine alone. The second scenario comes from Croatia. We should build an army and win the Donbas back by military means five years later," he said.
The official stressed that he hoped for the first scenario.
"The worst thing in the war is to bury your brothers-in-arms," he said.
