Mykolaiv Governor Merikov resigns after talk with Poroshenko

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced resignation of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration Vadym Merikov, calling it "political responsibility."

As reported by Censor.NET, Poroshenko also informed about resignation of Mykolaiv's regional prosecutor and chief of the regional police.

The president said there was no corruption scandal in Mykolaiv. He said that Mykolaiv region corrupt officials have been revealed by efforts of the new prosecutor general and the Security Service of Ukraine.

"Corrupt officials will be jailed, that's my committed position," Poroshenko said.
