As reported by Censor.NET citing the Defense Ministry's press service, this was announced by Minister of National Defence of Portugal Jose Alberto Azeredo Lopes during his meeting with Ukraine's Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak in Brussels.
According to the Ukrainian ministry, the aid will support the military technical sector, treatment of soldiers wounded in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in the east of Ukraine, and preparation of the troops.
Ukraine's minister of defense thanked for assistance and support and expressed certitude that cooperation between Ukraine and Portugal would be developed in the future.
"We should particularly develop the defense industry cooperation," Poltorak said.
The head of the Portuguese defense ministry stressed that Portugal would support the Ukrainian issue at the Warsaw Summit of NATO countries.
Earlier, NATO allocated 5 million hryvnia ($200,000) for sports rehabilitation of ATO participants.
