 Sharp escalation in Donbas: Russian terrorists committed 58 attacks, shelled Butivka mine with 152-mm guns, - Staff

The number of attacks in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area sharply increased yesterday.

Censor.NET informs citing the situation report by the ATO Staff press center as at 6 a.m. June 15.

According to the Staff, a total of 58 attacks were recorded over the past 24 hours, including 32 assaults committed at the Mariupol, 24 at the Donetsk and three at the Luhansk section of the front. In violation of the Minsk agreements, the Russian occupation forces employed mortars 18 times, artillery three times, and a tank once.

It is reported that the most intense attacks took place at the Mariupol section of the front not far from Pavlopil, where the enemy used mortars, 122-mm self-propelled guns, and carried out an assault operation. The militant's tank made two unsuccessful attempts to hit the ATO forces' fortifications near Krasnohorivka around 10 p.m.

"The positions on the outskirts of Marinka, Taramchuk, and Novotroitske came under mortar strikes, while Russian occupants fired at the strongholds near Hnutove, Talakivka, Chermalyk and Shyrokyne with grenade launchers of various systems and large-caliber machine guns. Chermalyk was impacted by four shells fired by the illegal armed groups from 122-mm self-propelled guns," the report reads.

"The enemy mortared the Ukrainian forces' strong points near Nevelske, Pisky, Avdiivka, Verkhniotoretske, and Luhanske at the Donetsk section of the front and shelled Putylivska (Butivka) mine with high-caliber mortars and 152-mm artillery.

"The Russian occupation troops employed large-caliber machine guns and automatic grenade launchers against the Ukrainian troops' fortified positions located at the Svitlodarsk salient.

"The enemy conducted indiscriminate attacks not far from Triokhizbenka and Nyzhnioteple in the Luhansk region," the ATO Staff added.

It should be reminded that according to the Defense Ministry, the sanitary losses incurred by the Ukrainian Army amounted to 8,130 soldiers including 2,491 irretrievable losses since the beginning of the anti-terrorist operation in the Donbas.
