As reported by Censor.NET, this was announced by the press office of the State Emergency Service in the Lviv region.
"June 14, at 9 a.m., a call about fire at the city dump site in Zhydachiv was received by the Emergency Service. Fire extinguishing units were sent to the site immediately," the message reads.
The fire covered 3.5 hectares by the moment of fire units' arrival. 16 firefighters and five units of special equipment, as well as two dozers are involved in the liquidation of the fire.
The State Emergency Service says the situation is under control. The reason for the emergency is not yet known.
Earlier, a large-scale fire broke out at Hrybovytske dump site in the vicinity of Lviv May 30. A waste pile slid and swamped several firefighters after the fire was extinguished and they were gathering the equipment and examining the site. Bodies of three killed firefighters were later found in the slide. Criminal proceedings have been initiated into the tragedy.
