The city of Mariupol, the Donetsk region, has celebrated the second anniversary of its liberation from pro-Russian militants.

As reported by Censor.NET citing the Ministry of Interior, the ceremony was attended by Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, deputy Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine Mykola Balan, MPs Andrii Biletskyi and Oleh Liashko, first Deputy Head of the National Police Vadym Troian, head of the Main Department of the National Police in the Donetsk region Viacheslav Abroskin, heads of other law enforcing agencies, and city authorities representatives.

The celebration started with a moment of silence to remember soldiers who died defending the city.

Minister of Interior Arsen Avakov said that as long as "Ukrainian borders are guarded by the mad dog of Putin's regime," the peace is under threat.
