 Terrorists fired about 400 shells at Ukrainian soldiers near Avdiivka last night, - ATO press service

The situation in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) area was tense last night. However, it remained under control of Ukrainian troops. Russian militants do not stop shelling the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It was reported about 49 militants’ attacks at Ukrainian soldiers over the past 24 hours (19 in the Donetsk sector; 24 in the Mariupol sector, and six in the Luhansk sector).

According to the report, the militants fired at Ukrainian positions from weapons banned by the Minsk Agreements. 29 cases of mortaring and four artillery attacks were reported.

24 militants' attacks were reported in the Mariupol sector. Ukrainian strongholds at Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Berezove, and Novotroitske were mortared, while Hranitne, Taramchuk, and Vodiane strongholds were fired from small arms, machine guns, and large-caliber grenade launchers of various systems.

The situation remained tense in the Donetsk sector. Russian occupants opened fire from machine guns, grenade launchers, mortars and anti-aircraft guns near Avdiivka industrial zone. Moreover, the terrorists fired about 400 shells at Ukrainian soldiers near Avdiivka since 9 p.m. till midnight.

Opytne and Putylivska mine were also shelled by the militants' artillery. Maiorsk checkpoint was mortared twice. At the same time, Ukrainian strongholds at Zaitseve, Nevelske, and Maiorsk were fired from machine guns, grenade launchers and mortars of various systems.

In the Luhansk sector, the militants fired at the ATO forces' positions near Novozvanivka and Novooleksandrivka from small arms and grenade launchers.
