The president emphasized that these funds were allocated to low-income citizens in order to provide them assistance in light of bringing the tariffs to the market level.
"The state must reimburse all tariff escalations to low-income citizens. To avoid any failures, an additional 5 billion hryvnia is allocated for these purposes" Poroshenko said.
He stressed that there was another item in the law on the state budget - the increase of social standards by 10 percent this year instead of the planned 6 percent.
The head of state pointed out that it was insufficient while there was understanding that any growth in the economy should be aimed at rise in living standards, increase of minimum wage and pensions.
"I am confident that this line of social protection will continue to be implemented under the economic growth," Poroshenko said.
The president also recalled that the act stipulating allocation of additional 3 billion hryvnia for restoration of the infrastructure of the liberated Donbas was signed yesterday.
