Bombers of the Russian Aerospace Defense Forces dropped phosphorous and cluster bombs on the populated areas of the opposition-held Syrian provinces of Idlib and Aleppo.

Censor.NET reports citing Turkish Anadolu Agency.

As noted by the agency citing its sources on condition of anonymity, Russian warplanes struck the city of Maaret al-Numan to the south of Idlib province with cluster munitions. Fighter jets also attacked the villages of Kafr Hamra and Hraytan in Aleppo province with phosphorous bombs, leaving several people injured.

As a result of the attack on Maaret al-Numan, two children were killed, six more people received injuries. The bombardment of Kafr Hamra burned several cars as fire broke out in city's residential areas, the report notes.

It should be mentioned that Russia's involvement in the deaths of civilians in Syria has long been reiterated. Moscow denies the accusations. During Russia's involvement in the military conflict in Syria, from Sept. 30 till March 15 inclusive, at least 984 deaths of civilians were registered (including 443 children and 286 women).
