 25-year-old man who killed two girls in road accident in Vasylkiv taken into custody, - prosecutor’s office

Yesterday, the Shevchenko district court of Kyiv granted a petition of the Prosecutor's Office of the Kyiv region and imposed pretrial confinement without right to post a bail against the 25-year-old man who caused a deadly accident in Vasylkiv.

Censor.NET informs citing the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Kyiv region.

"The criminal proceedings have been filed under Part 3 of the Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic rules resulting in death of several persons). The article provides for imprisonment of five to 10 years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years," the statement reads.

Law enforcers have established that the driver was intoxicated when he caused the road traffic accident.

The measures to establish all the circumstances of the criminal offense are currently being taken. The pretrial investigation is underway.
