 US Department of Treasury representative to persuade France and Germany to maintaine sanctions pressure on Russia

The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced today that Acting Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Adam J. Szubin will visit Paris and Berlin on June 7-8.

Censor.NET reports citing the press service of the U.S. Department of Treasury.

During his trip, Acting Under Secretary Szubin will meet with senior government officials, including those from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Finance, Interior Affairs, and Economics as well as members of the financial services community.

"Discussions will focus on the importance of maintaining sanctions pressure on Russia until it fulfills the provisions of the Minsk Agreements," the report reads.

Earlier, Petro Poroshenko declared that the question of regaining control over the state border by Ukraine is crucial for the implementation of the Minsk agreements. Poroshenko has also mentioned that the Minsk agreements presuppose "withdrawal of the occupation forces from the entire Ukrainian territory and restoration of Ukrainian control over the state border."
