 Poroshenko announced start of talks on OSCE police mission deployment in Donbas

President Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with representative of Ukraine in the political subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group, Head of the Civil Network OPORA Olha Aivazovska.

Poroshenko and Aivazovska discussed the results of recent political subgroup meeting held in Minsk. Aivazovska informed the president about problematic issues and proposals on elections in certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

The president emphasized the importance of fulfillment of all security components of the Minsk agreements by the Russian side.

He also announced the start of discussion on the possibility of deployment of an OSCE armed police mission in the Donbas.

Poroshenko and Aivazovska talked strategic approaches to the settlement of the Donbas crisis and the restoration of Ukrainian sovereignty over the entire country.

In addition, they discussed the nomination of new candidates to the Central Election Commission.

Poroshenko thanked the representative of Ukraine for her contribution to the reinforcement of Ukrainian position in the Minsk talks, as well as for her clear and consistent stance in defending the independence and territorial integrity of the state.
